Roberto Sarotto Gavi Cortese 2018

Imagine a grape variety that gives you Pinot Gris type peachy citrus flavours with Sauvignon Blanc style acidity and that grape would be Cortese (pronounced coor tay zee). This grape is also known as Gavi in the region of, you guessed it Gavi, so there is such a thing out there known as Gavi di Gavi literally translated to Gavi of Gavi.  I really wish that more wineries in Australia would explore this grape variety. This wine has a light bright palate with a nice line of freshness from start to finish. The flavours are white peach, lemon and lime with light spicy notes and grapefruit tones. A fine match for spicy Asian cuisine.
