Allinda Yarra Valley Syrah 2016
$28.00 – $75.00
Medium to full bodied intense ripe flavour with natural acidity and tannin giving dryness on the palate. Ripeness of fruit in the warmish 2016 February has lifted the flavour profile into the mulberry and plum zone so less white pepper than other Yarra Valley Syrahs. They keep it simple really. Healthy soils, healthy vines, some of the better old school practices, a dash of modern technique and a whole lotta good old common sense.Drink now to 2032

The Yarra Valley was Victoria’s first wine growing district with a history stretching back 170 years.
The Yarra Valley is now recognised as one of Australia’s foremost cool climate regions, capable of making classic styles from a wide range of varieties. It is known as the birthplace of Victoria’s wine industry.
The regional emphasis on the quality and flavour of wine has spread to the local produce grown in the same fertile soil and expertly tended. Expect fine contemporary fare and ambient dining in some of the most picturesque settings in Victoria. (Wine Australia)
Pinot Noir is very successful in many regions in the state of Victoria and produces a wide range of styles. Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Geelong, Gippsland and Macedon Ranges all produce very high quality examples. Being surrounded by the cooling effect of the Southern Ocean, Tasmania does particularly well with this variety. The complex and varied region of Adelaide Hills is also home to very fine examples.
Pinot Noir also figures prominently in the production of Traditional Method sparkling wines in Australia with fruit from Tasmania and Yarra Valley being in high demand for its balance of delicate flavors and high acidity.(Wine Australia)
